12/21/12 Kona’s Old Airport Beach Wedding

12/21/12 – What a great date! Lots of couples chose this date for their nuptials because of the way the numbers are arranged. It also happened to be the last day on the Mayan calendar. I performed several weddings on this unique “end of the world” date. It was a lot of fun to look at the groom in the middle of the ceremony and say, “you look nervous – it’s not like it’s the end of the world – ooops”.  Jake and Debra were the first wedding of 12/21/12. We had a great time with them and their guests. As you can tell, they had great light.

Visually, I know of no other venue which shows off a wedding gown as dramatically as the Big Island with its unique lava flows. The contrast between black and white, hard and soft, rough and smooth, heavy and light provides a tension that offers the perfect stage for your wedding dress. The intricate interplay between the flow of the lava and the flow of the wedding dress is simply stunning.
